What happens if you want to respond to additional events after you ve created the project It s very common that you would want to add new events or remove events you already selected in the wizard One way to add or remove events would be to manually update the EventReceiver1 class and override additional methods You could then update the Elementsxml file as well Fortunately, Visual Studio provides an easier way to do this We will add an event handler to handle the asynchronous ItemAdded event Follow these steps to add an additional event handler: 1 Click the EventReceiver1 project item folder in the Solution Explorer window 2 Open the Properties window With the EventReceiver1 folder selected you can press F4 to open the Properties window 3 In the Properties window find the Handle ItemAdded property under SharePoint Events 4 Click the drop-down next to Handle ItemAdded property and change it to True Figure 5-5 shows the Properties window that is shown when the EventReceiver1 folder is selected As soon as the Handle ItemAdded property value is changed from False to True, an event handler for the selected property is added to the code file and a new Receiver element is added to Elementsxml that describes the event Removing events is just as simple as adding them Instead of changing the property value to True we would set it to False
